Tabkeep or OneTab? Both help you close tabs. Only one helps you find them again.

OneTab turns every open tab into one long list. Tabkeep gives the tabs you close a place to live, with spaces, groups, notes and sync, right on your new tab.

We make Tabkeep. Everything about OneTab here comes from OneTab's own pages, we say where OneTab is ahead, and planned Tabkeep features don't count.

The short answer

Choose Tabkeep if you want to use those tabs again

Save a window just as fast, then sort the tabs into spaces and groups, add notes, and see them every time you open a new tab. Alt+A finds any of them in seconds.

Choose OneTab if you only want the tabs gone

One click and every tab becomes a line in a list. It is free, needs no account, and works in Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari.

The list is where tabs go to be forgotten

OneTab's click is quick, but each one adds another dated group to one long page, with no folders, notes or way to say why you kept something. Months later, the list is as hard to face as the tabs were.

Tabkeep saves a window just as quickly (Save tabs as a session… in the sidebar), then lets you move tabs into the space and group they belong to, fold related ones into clusters, and write a note about what to do next. Because the workspace is your new tab, you see it every day, and Alt+A finds any tab by a few letters.

Your open tabs, cleaned up as you go

OneTab has one answer for open tabs: send them all to the list. Tabkeep's sidebar shows every open tab, marks duplicates and closes them in one step, and can put inactive tabs to sleep, so you keep the ones you need and save the rest where they belong.

Keeping what you saved safe

OneTab's own help warns that uninstalling the extension deletes the tabs it stored. Tabkeep keeps a backup file one click away in Settings → Data, and Pro syncs your workspace to the cloud, so a new computer or a reinstall doesn't start from zero.

Where OneTab still fits

For a quick reset that costs nothing, OneTab is hard to beat. It runs in Firefox and Safari as well as Chrome and Edge, and it can share a list as a web page.
